Geothermal Advisory Pty Ltd

The principals of Geothermal Advisory have substantial experience in the resources sector and have been intensively involved in the Australian geothermal sector for a number of years.  They combine strong geophysical and geological technical skills, with a well developed corporate over-lay to provide a range of services suited for value-adding to Australian and offshore geothermal corporates.

Malcolm gained First Class Honours in Geology from the University of Tasmania in 1981 and followed that with an MSc from Queen’s University, Ontario in 1991.  He worked in the Australian and North American minerals sector between 1982 and 1994, finally in international business development.  He then moved to the resources investment banking sector in Sydney and between 1994 and 2004 worked for several international investment banks specialising in resources valuations, Mergers & Acquisitions and finance.

Since 2004 Malcolm has consulted to a number of companies on resources projects in Australia and overseas.  Malcolm joined KUTh Exploration in January 2007 and led KUTh Energy through its IPO in September of that year.  Until August 2008 he managed all aspects of KUTh’s corporate and exploration activities, taking the company to be recognised as one of Australia’s leading geothermal exploration companies, with an enviable market profile and active projects in EGS, direct use and conventional geothermal.

Malcolm was a founding delegate of the Australian Geothermal Energy Association and remains on AGEA’s Resources and Reserves Reporting Code, Policy, Direct Use and Transmission Committees.  He is a member of the AGEA/AGEG Geothermal Reporting Code Committee, a Member of the AusIMM of 25 years standing and has acted as a Competent Person for certain reports of geothermal exploration results.
